Elvis and a Clown

The State Fair was this month and we just had to go--twice.  Eli, of course, was dragged along as usual.  We were pretty lucky because we went once with my parents and once with Ryan's parents. We had the absolute pleasure of getting to watch our niece, Anna Ruth, perform her first solo dance.  She was so cute and she did a great job.  The most entertaining Elvis impersonator also did a show and I have to say, the guy had MOVES--not very attractive moves, but moves all the same.  Enjoy.

I'm lovin' it.

Taking a stroll.

Chillin' at the State Fair.

I ain't nothing but a Hound Dog.

Shortly after the fair, we discovered that Piedmont was bringing the circus to town. Well we just had to go watch.  Our good friends, the Gossen's came with us and I have to admit, it was fabulous.  I was expecting dinky and I got grand.  There were lions, tigers, clowns, and jugglers.  Unicycles, hula hoops, fire and some sort of launching swing completed the acts.  We were amazed and thoroughly entertained. Eli was even awake for a lot of it and watched with wide eyes as the trapeze artist swung on a bar using only her neck.  Thanks Drew and Kristen for sharing it with us and holding the little one.

ZOOLICIOUS

For those of you in Oklahoma, you know that the weather has been brutal this summer.  50 something days of the temperature over one hundred degrees.  Well, it finally broke and the Wedel's took advantage by loading up our little bundle and heading to the zoo.  It was a beautiful day and Ryan was excited to introduce Eli to his beloved Rhinos.  We also were able to see the new baby elephant that was born this summer.  At 300lbs, I think that she outweighed Eli slightly.  Here are some of my favorite picture from the day.

I think this one could beat up Peter and Petra.

I LOVE the zoo.

I HATE the zoo.

A COWBOY In The Making

Ryan and I lost no time in introducing Eli to the best team on earth--OKLAHOMA STATE.  When he was four weeks old, he was able to get his first taste of heaven when we drove to Stillwater and watched the OSU vs. Arizona game.  We met up with my mom and dad as well as the Rainey crew.  Eli loved it...well, at least the part he was awake for.  Just wanted to say thanks Kendal for giving her aunt a break and holding Eli for about a quarter.  Way to build that muscle.  Here is a little POKE in the making.

That backpack is a life-saver.

WE ARE READY FOR THE GAME.

FAITH, HOPE, AND PUPPIES....

August was an extremely busy month for the Wedel crew.  Coming home from the hospital was a little scary, but thanks to my mom, we got settled in pretty quickly.  Ryan and I didn't waste any time getting Eli out and about. Our first outing was to church when he was 9 days old.  I don't know how God feels about pictures in church, but I couldn't resist getting a picture of Eli in his first church service.  (I think he'd be happy.)  I was so mad because I put him in the cutest outfit, complete with a sweater vest, and the first thing he does is spit up all over it.  We did have a back-up outfit but it was a little casual, so he stayed bundled in his blanket.

WE MAY HAVE TAKEN A SHORT NAP...

Just a few days later, our family grew again when the dogs had puppies. Just so you know, we now have  fourteen animals....too many.  I'm not sure if Eli liked them or not but they sure were cute.

What the heck??

Ummm....What is that?

With all this playing, it was time to get clean.  He loves the water and cries every time I get him out.  I did my best to pick pictures that wouldn't embarrass him when he's older, but don't worry, I have the indecent ones saved on my computer.

Hmmm, I think I like the water.
I know I like my turtle.

Peek-A-Boo

And finally, here are some cute pictures of the babe for all to enjoy.

One, Two, Three....SMILE

When Eli was four days old, we took him to Lindsey Fullerton and she took some newborn pictures.  Three hours later, after some feeding breaks, we had some great shots.  I personally think he is the cutest baby to ever live......

A NEW MEMBER IN THE GANG

Well, Eli is finally here.  He is a huge blessing in our lives and I can't express to all of you how much we love and enjoy him. This blog is going to be a place to share stories and pictures but I'm getting started a little late.  So here is a quick review of what you have missed when Eli was born.
